Emily

Counsellor

Pronouns: she, her

Emily holds a Master of Counselling from Flinders University, where she received the Chancellor’s Letter of Commendation. She has undertaken additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based approach widely used in couples therapy, and has worked extensively with clients from Singapore’s LGBTQ+ community since 2022.

Emily works with couples seeking to strengthen their relationship, rebuild emotional connection, navigate recurring conflict, and move through significant life transitions together. She also supports individual adults facing relationship challenges, emotional difficulties, workplace stress, and periods of personal change.

Before becoming a counsellor, Emily practised as an in-house corporate counsel and volunteered with the Samaritans of Singapore for over a decade. Drawing on both her clinical training and professional experience, she brings a grounded and thoughtful perspective to the complex personal, relational, and professional challenges that clients may encounter.

Emily takes a client-centred, EFT-informed approach grounded in attachment theory and respect for each person's lived experience. She aims to create a safe and reflective therapeutic space where couples and individuals can better understand their emotional patterns, communicate more openly, and develop more secure, connected, and fulfilling relationships. Her work focuses not only on addressing immediate concerns, but also on fostering deeper emotional awareness and lasting relational change.

Emily is a Registered Counsellor (C1142) with the Singapore Association for Counselling, and an Associate Member of the Singapore Community for EFT.
