We have a small team comprising full-time professionals, supported by teams of trained and dedicated volunteers. The organisation is headed by an Executive Director, who reports to the Board of Directors.
Leow Yangfa

Leow Yangfa joined Oogachaga in June 2013 as the Deputy Executive Director, and was appointed Executive Director in July 2015. In October 2025, after 10 years in the role, he stepped down as part of a planned renewal of organisational leadership. He continues to serve as Partnerships Manager.
Yangfa has more than 20 years of experience working in various social service organisations, including in suicide prevention and intervention (with Samaritans of Singapore, from 2005 to 2013), and social service planning and coordination (with National Council of Social Service, from 1999 to 2005). He graduated with a Bachelors with Honours in Social Policy from Royal Holloway, University of London, United Kingdom (1999) and has a Graduate Diploma in Social Work (2006). He is a registered social worker (RSW 1322) with the Social Work Accreditation and Advisory Board, and a member of the Singapore Association of Social Workers.
As Executive Director, his role included providing LGBTQ-affirming professional counselling to individuals, couples and families, engaging corporate partners, conducting community outreach, volunteer management, delivering professional training, media relations, and fundraising. As Partnerships Manager, continues his role in community and corporate engagement, fundraising, media relations and advocacy.
His coming out story as a gay man was included in “SQ21: Singapore Queers in the 21st Century”, first published in 2006 and republished in 2018. He also edited the anthology “I Will Survive: Personal LGBT stories in Singapore”, first published in 2011 as an e-book, and 3 print editions since 2013.
