We have a small team comprising full-time professionals, supported by teams of trained and dedicated volunteers. The organisation is headed by an Executive Director, who reports to the Board of Directors.

Yangfa joined Oogachaga in June 2013 as the Deputy Executive Director, and was appointed Executive Director in July 2015. In October 2025, after 10 years in the role, he chose to step down as part of a planned renewal of organisational leadership. He continues to serve as Partnerships Manager.

He has more than 20 years of experience working in various social service organisations, including in suicide prevention and intervention (with Samaritans of Singapore, from 2005 to 2013), and social service planning and coordination (with National Council of Social Service, from 1999 to 2005).

As Executive Director, his role included providing LGBTQ-affirming professional counselling to individuals, couples and families, engaging corporate partners, conducting community outreach, volunteer management, delivering professional training, media relations, and fundraising. As Partnerships Manager, he will continue his role in community and corporate engagement, fundraising, media relations and advocacy.

He edited the anthology “I Will Survive: Personal LGBT stories in Singapore”, first published in 2011 as an e-book, and since 2013 there has been 3 print editions. He is veggie by choice, and a guncle (gay uncle) to 5 incredible young women.
