As Singapore’s most established LGBTQ+ charity, the core team of full-time professional staff members work closely with volunteers who play an important role in delivering our services. Our volunteers are organised into the following teams:


1. Volunteers for WhatsApp and Email Counselling

Interested volunteers who do not have relevant professional qualifications (in counselling, social work or psychology) may apply. You are required to fulfill all of the following criteria:

  • Age: at least 21 years old

  • Residency: legally living in Singapore for at least the next 2 years (regardless of citizenship/ nationality)

  • Interview: willing & able to attend a volunteer interview in 2025 (details to be confirmed)

  • Training: commit to attending regular weekly training sessions in 2025 (details to be confirmed)

You will also need to have the following qualities:

  • The capacity to CARE for others

  • Be optimistic and COMPASSIONATE

  • Can offer regular COMMITMENT to volunteering

  • Willingness to CONTRIBUTE back to the COMMUNITY

  • Can observe strict CONFIDENTIALITY of identity & information


2. Volunteers for Professional Counselling

We are looking for volunteers with professional qualifications in Social Work, Counselling or Psychology, as recognised by the respective professional associations in Singapore.

We regret to inform that presently, we do not have the capacity to accept counselling or social work interns & students on placement.

All Oogachaga volunteers are required to adhere to our Volunteer Code of Ethics.
